Devo - Grateful for Manna

Numbers 11:6  “But now our strength is dried up, and there is nothing at all but this manna to look at.”  Am I living in a blessing as if it were a curse? Like the Israelites, who wandered through the  dessert, complained about their Manna.   This was God’s provision, but they turned it into a curse.  Because it was familiar.  Because it was predictable.   Because it had to be managed every day.   Because at heart they were short sighted and disappointed and tired and far from home. They longed for their captivity.  Because it was familiar.  Because it was predictable.  Because it could be managed every day.  Because at heart they were short sighted and disappointed and tired and longing for home. And I too can complain for a better house or a better job or a better paycheck or a better life.  Because this is all too familiar.  Because this is all too predictable.  Because this all must be managed every day.  Because at heart I am short sighted and disappointed and tired and this wor

May Event Recap

We had around 30 women attend our Ladies of Hope Night this month! It was great to be able to connect and reconnect together. Faith courageously shared her story of hurt, heartbreak, and healing and reminded us that God is with us through it all.  Ally reminded us that we often confuse God's love with our sanctification. Through a lifelong pursuit of our holiness we forget that God's love pours out on us unconditionally, independent of our actions. We must only accept it. We cannot hide from God's love, do not need to change for God's love, and there's nothing we need to "do" to earn God's love. Sanctification is a response to his love. But God's perfect love will meet us right where we are at. And from that love, we can love others unconditionally as well. Thank you to all the ladies who joined us, a special thank you to Faith for sharing her Hope Story, and we hope you make plans to join us next month on June 8th   at 7pm!

Ministry Spotlight - Hands of Hope

For our first Ministry Spotlight, we connected with Casey Bloomfield to learn more about the Hands of Hope  ministry.  Our hope is these will make you aware of initiatives in our church and community that exist to help others. We hope you'll be encouraged and seek ways to use your gifts for God's glory.   1. Can you tell us a little bit about this ministry -- what do you do? The Hands of Hope ministry meets every second Thursday of the month (except July and August) in the church cafĂ© from 6:30-8 pm.  Anyone is welcome to join.  We bring whatever project we are working on and mostly socialize while we work.  Mostly people make prayer shawls and baby blankets, but we have gotten hats (baby and adult), booties, and other things too.  If you feel called to make something, go for it!  We also pray over the things we make.   2. How long have you been involved and why are you passionate about it?  I have been a part of the Hands of Hope ministry for 6 years and in a leadership role f
